SloweGanzi Presents Ten Years of Àṣẹ
The Ooni of Ife’s Decade of Peace, Culture and Unity
This November, the ancient city of Ile-Ife—the spiritual heart of the Yoruba people—will come alive in colours, music, pageantry, and global acclaim as it hosts one of the most anticipated cultural gatherings of the decade. From November 30th to December 7th, 2025, Arolé Oduduwa, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the 51st Ooni of Ife, will celebrate the 10th anniversary of his coronation with a week-long Pan-African festival under the grand theme: “Ten Years of Àṣẹ: A Reign of Peace, Culture and Unity.”
It will be more than an anniversary. SloweGanzi has designed this 8-day programme to not only celebrate the Oonis 10-year reign, but to showcase Yoruba history, culture and the legacies that have been created throughout the diaspora. It will be a convocation of kings and queens, presidents and prime ministers, artists and cultural icons, scholars and youth from across the world. It will be a moment when the Yoruba race—one of Africa’s proudest civilizations—takes centre stage, telling its story not as history, but as a living, breathing legacy.
A Monarch for the Times
When Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi ascended the throne in 2015, he stepped into history as the custodian of Ile-Ife, the cradle of Yoruba civilization and, by extension, one of the spiritual seats of Africa. His emergence carried the weight of tradition, yet his reign has been marked by a modern vision.
In just a decade, Kabiyesi has become more than a monarch—he has become a statesman of culture. With a commanding presence and a gentle heart, he has led the Yoruba race into a new era where heritage meets progress, where tradition converses with innovation, and where unity triumphs over division.
Be Expectant
As the world prepares to converge on Ile-Ife, there is a palpable sense that this will be more than a festival. It will be a declaration of identity, a celebration of resilience, and a reminder of Africa’s gifts to the world.
The Ase10 Planning Committee powered by SloweGanzi’s, celebration of Arolé Oduduwa’s 10th Coronation Anniversary, is not just about looking back on a decade of achievement. It is about looking forward to a future of unity, progress, and global respect.
For the Yoruba people, for Nigeria, and for the African world, it will be a moment to say: Àṣẹ.
In Yoruba, Àṣẹ (also spelled as Àṣé, Ashe, Ase) signifies power, authority, command and the ability to make things happen. It represents the vital force or energy that underlies all existence, both living and non-living, and is believed to be the force that brings spoken words into reality.
